**TCRT5000** is an infrared reflectance sensor that is commonly used in line-following robots. It is a short-range sensor that can detect the color and distance of an object ³. The sensor consists of an IR transmitter and an IR receiver. The way it works is that the IR transmitter emits an IR signal, which is then reflected by an obstacle and detected by the IR receiver. The sensor is mounted at the bottom of the robot chassis and is used to follow a line.
